Hello and welcome
I’m Emma, a qualified person-centred counsellor who specialises in working with children and adults living with anxiety and depression. I hold a diploma in therapeutic counselling alongside a masters’ degree in applied psychology. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Alongside my private counselling practice (which I provide both in person and online), I volunteer in a secondary school providing counselling for teenagers which I find incredibly rewarding (and challenging too).
My professional experience also includes working for an agency providing NHS talking therapies for adults from a wide variety of backgrounds. Before I was a counsellor, I worked as an advanced clinical practitioner within the NHS, something which has allowed me to hone my people skills and calm approach.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, doing pilates and walking my dog Loki.
Services
Here you can find details of the services I offer:

Children
In person and online therapy sessions for children aged 7 years plus.
Parenting isn't easy, we worry about our children and want what's best for them.
I provide a calm and creative environment for children to explore their feelings and develop coping strategies.
I can even visit your child at school (with schools consent)

Teens
The teenage years are a time of major brain development- all that hard work comes with challenges of it's own!
Whether it's exam stress, negotiating friendships or issues such as bullying, I create room for teens to explore these new thoughts and feelings.

Adults
Online and in-person therapy in York.
